A Flair for La Mer
Bay Grill, Frisco
For all the sea's bountiful offerings, those in the know go to Frisco. The focus is fish and the bistro is Bay Grill, located at the northwest corner of Legacy and 121. A Dallas Observer Critic's pick, Bay Grill's tenure has been brief, yet the buzz surrounding this little maritime find has been anything but meager.
Bay Grill regularly and regally features seasonal grilled seafood selections such as escolar, walleye, mahi-mahi and grouper. Sumptuous starters include Prince Edward Island mussels with herbed white wine butter and Maryland style crab cakes with Cajun remoulade and Bay Grill's corn relish, as well as the house's hearty clam chowders. Savor specialties of the house in the form of horseradish and citrus-crusted cedar plank salmon and grilled chili-rubbed shrimp served with either orange chipotle sauce or barbecue hollandaise. Famished, fella? Sink your teeth into a plentiful Po'Boy. Choose from crispy beer-battered white fish on a hoagie roll or the open-face crab and artichoke melt with crabmeat, artichoke quarters, melted provolone and Parmesan cheeses on Texas toast. Complement your catch with a side of green onion hushpuppies, lemon-thyme orzo, or crispy French fries.
You'll find a most creative cocktail in Bay Grill 'Tackle Box' Martini, which combines Smirnoff Vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahula, Half & Half, and a splash of Jack Daniels. Cravers of Key lime flavor will melt over the house's synonymous selections in the form of Key lime meringue pie and the Key lime martini with Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka, Key lime liqueur, pineapple juice, whipping cream, and a graham cracker crusted rim. For a seriously sweet ending, dig into the house's signature bread pudding with dried cranberries and caramel rum sauce. It's gooey goodness, perfect for the finishing of a phenomenal feast.
Weekly specials include $6.99 catfish on Monday nights and $5 Bay Grill Signature Mojitos on Fridays and Saturdays. Happy Hour occurs nightly, Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m. Take your flock to rock regularly and become a valued member of the Bay Grill Martini Club.
Experience decadent dining plus fine wine during Bay Grill's Summer Wine Dinner Sunday, August 10 at 6 p.m. Bay Grill's freshest seafood selections will flank fabulous wines from Kenwood Vineyards in Sonoma County.
