Poised for Pesca
This week, appetizing action readily resumes
in the West Village with Alberto Lombardi's highly anticipated new eatery.
Lombardi is primed to launch his latest venture, an Italian seafood concept
called Pescabar, in the space formerly occupied by Italian fave Ferré. For
those whose bidding of farewell to Ferré was, well, forlorn, your interest
may, perhaps, be peaked. Pesca actually translates roughly to "fish"
in Italian. What's more, lingering Italian influences are said to exist in
the form of gorgeous Venetian mirrors and custom-made Italian furniture, as well
as in such intriguing menu items as Italian sashimi. The eatery will
also feature a raw, or "crudo" bar, a first for Dallas, plus animal tanks filled
with live lobsters and Dungeness crab.
Gather your school for a movie at the
Magnolia, then meander over to Pescabar for a divine dinner of fresh seafood
flown in daily from Hawaii, San Francisco, New York, and Washington State.
Slip on those sleek shades and enjoy a special seafood brunch on Saturdays and
Sundays whilst watching bright young things saunter the streets of the WV.
Indulge in Pescabar's gelato and sorbetto, made in-house, or, if you prefer
simple sippage, relax with a big glass of Cab on the expanded patio. This
is pesca with panache.
